Who's Haj Abdo?
Abdul Razzaq al-Masri, known as “Haj Abdo Al-Fawal”, who is considered as one of the city’s most prominent landmarks and the most well-known and beloved figures of all.
Haj Abdo died at the age of 74, Leaving the big and the young with unforgettable memories of his smiling face, the curvature of his back and his well-known dancing while working in his first shop, famous in the Al-Jadida neighborhood of Old Aleppo.

Haj Abdo’s original small restaurant in Jadida is about 117 years old, Starting with ‘Abu Abdo’, the great-grandfather whose well-known image was in the middle of the restaurant, After that, his son Haj Abdo completed the march for more than 70 years.

Why is 'Haj Abdo' a tourist destination?
For the oldness of it and simplicity through wooden chairs or oaks and old tables, The shop and its owner became a landmark as important as the firewood yard (‘sahet al-hatab’) adjacent to it, Khan al-Wazir or Bab al-Nasr.
And the pioneers of ‘Haj Abdo’ are not limited to customers from the simple popular class only, it is visited by all social classes, even officials and ministers, Abu Abdo has also become an essential destination for all foreign tourists to taste “aleppo’s finest beans” and see a vivid memory of the oldest city in history.
